I was honored to serve San Luis Obispo County as the elected County Clerk-Recorder for 20 years and I know what it takes to lead this office, which touches the lives of every county resident.  Elaina Cano has the knowledge, experience and proven commitment to public service to ensure that the duties of the office and our elections are conducted with the utmost integrity and transparency. I whole-heartedly endorse Elaina in her campaign to continue serving as County Clerk-Recorder.

When I served on the City Council in San Luis Obispo, I knew I could always count on Elaina to be courteous, professional, and non-partisan.

It is critical that we retain Elaina Cano at the helm of the County Clerk’s office to ensure the continued impartial administration of elections in SLO County.

I had the privilege of working with Elaina Cano as our City Clerk while serving on the San Luis Obispo City Council. I can state unequivocally that Elaina Cano is fully qualified for the job. More importantly, she is thoroughly committed to serving in this critical non-partisan role with the high level integrity and transparency demanded by our democracy.

At a time when so many voters on all sides of our political spectrum are legitimately concerned about the many challenges confronting our system of elections, Elaina Cano can be trusted to use her position in a manner that restores our faith in open and fair elections. She has already earned the praise of those who saw her work in preparing for the gubernatorial recall election in September 2021.
